ok, so this was typed after the campfire...
cold shower. need to chill myself. trying to make sense of what's happening around me. changes in people, places, and time. Somehow, communication between human has become harder and harder. Or was it me being more and more repulsive to the human species?
It’s day 2 of the so-called leadership camp. Depending on people, there would b lots of opinion bout wats this 3 day 2 night is. Fundamentally, its just another school-based camp which the school says “will teach u good-for-nothing peas how to lead ppl”. To me, leadership cant b taught, it has to b earned. Not by how fast u can lead a team to accomplish a goal but rather by how u handle sudden arising problems. N I, am not one of them.
So they got u stuck here for days. With the ability to simply toy with you in whatever ways they found interesting and telling u that their action was intended to teach u how to lead. And by the end of the day, u’re sored form hair to toe nails and u’ll b wondering foolishly bout how should tat prank upgrade your leadership skill. The answer is simple, to be a leader, u must learn how to b a follower. 要领导别人就须被别人领导。Its as simple as that. The camp wont teach you how to lead, ok, maybe a few talks bout the basics but surely not telling wat to do when someone under ur command confessed to you and u have to drag him/her around cause he/she is hanging on ur jeans. The bottom line is, they’re stimulating u to become a good leader.
So why all the quarrel and suing the school for teen abusing? If u just cant take it, quit your post and go home to your pillow. Let a better person lead the crowd. End of story, no mess.
A change of perspective. Wat happens if you’re here because majority of the member’s vote happens to fall on you? And your ex says u cant quit because u’re the future of the petty organization? Well, tat changes everything doesn’t it?
The biggest difference between a good leader and a worse than osama leader is will. The level of will in a particular leader to ensure everything runs all right no matter how hard the situation is. Rain or shine, the mission has gotta be completed and all members wont hate you for life.
Which points to another direction. Is sacrificing more than others a crucial part in the check list of becoming a leader? The answer is simply no, the crowd wont recognize you as their leader nor bow to your command just because you payed homage to gods than others.
To be on the practical side, which one would u choose as the president of your organization?
A. One who works the hardest and does everything for the organization but isn’t capable of leading
B. One who is extremely capable of leading but rarely show up or done anything for the organization
C. Flip a coin
If u ignored the option C, it would surprise you tat how long of a time can a simple question like tat required you to pick one. Bottom line, a leader doesn’t have to b someone who is a hard-working geek who aims to become a leader.
So now ur’re suddenly a comitee and is in command of some hundred of people who probably wish u’re better off dead. What do you do? Simple, CARRY ON!

back from camp... i actually was going to post the draft i typed at school(school's wi-fi is really really screwed up), but since im all too lazy and tired to go power up my laptop i'll just try to retype wat i've typed.
this is going to be a diary + overall comments...
1st day
came late, was supposed to be there before 7am. got there at 7.36. n then im-so-damm-smart hung phung and junan set things up at the wrong side of the hall. ok, i can live with tat. i'll just shift the whole thing later.
n then they(refering to those who knew who you are if u ever step a foot in this blogspot) came and sat like they own the place. thought bout asking one of those nasty-looking cmts to kick them away but tat would spoil our club's name or so junlin said.
and then there was the plan-your-items-within-a-specific-time thingy. the worse idea those pea brained cmts can ever thought of. dya have any idea how screwed up we got just bsc u wanted some cheap entertainment!? those relentless(or should we say 'semangat kia su') leaders came with crazy demands. next time, tell them to bring their own laptops, we're NOT gonna be the ones editing hundreds of songs and have them redo redo redo again and again and again!
and bsc we have to entertain these thoughtful leaders, we worked on the spotlights until 3 in the morning. tats the time we finished connecting the wires and errect them. then we have to test them and adjust and bla bla bla thing i dont even want to mention. in the end, i showered at 4.03 and slept at 4.30. fine, after all, its camping right?
and not to mention tat i actually started helping after 1am because im the one who has to edit the songs....
2nd day
only have an hour and a half of sleep. have to wake up at 6 bsc those cmt wants us to play 'chicken dance' at 6.30. junlin has gone without sleep while yifeng wakes up only because we're testing the speakers.
and then the talks. sound effects really comes in handy... especially when the atmosphere is too 'cold'. n the 1st speaker is great but the 2nd speaker is just annoying... befrienders... in sivic exam we even get friendsters... lol
half an hour to continue preparing the items.... hell part 2. bsc so many, i mean MANY ppl came to correct this and that until i actually have to redo everything, i issued a statement tat no changes will be made after the half hour. many came from the same group with contradicting statements tat i have to have junmin and gilbert run rounds so many time(they must b really fit for marathons). tat was fine, i tried to keep pace with their demands the best i can. and in the mid of the chaos, bad things are bound to happen n tat i'll explain later.
n then here comes trouble. after they tested their schedule bla bla bla, gangs of ppl from group 1 came to request for changing and rediting the songs. told them no, i've adi had enough of these. n then they started screaming bout us not letting them do anything, sending them to their death bla bla bla. got furious and yelled at them. yea, i did tat.
and then the campfire. the original plan was me to operate the computer since im the one who edited almost all the songs and communicate with the leaders, nanfeng with the mixer(dont even wonder if tats the blender), junan the player and another laptop just in case. not even half an hour after it started, i took over nanfeng's job and have horngwei take over junan's. why? nanfeng's not doin his job, too busy watching the show and shows no any significant know-how in his job. junan's playing games and sms at the job. n even worse, gilbert broke one of our mics, in half.
n junmin and jinyeong's is just confusing me with all the changing schedule. did ya all know tat the schedule has actually been changed 6 times DURING the course of the campfire? off course not, u're too busy complaining bout us whenever ur voice didnt came through(for christ sake push the switch to the top position!). and then there's junmin who screwed up the laptop twice. crashing explorer.exe first in the mid of a team's item and closing windows media player when it is playing 'gemuruh'(yea, u guys must have wondered y the song broke off in the mid).
and i mentioned bad stuff tat happens in the chaos. i played the wrong version a group's item. they end up waving their hands instead of dancing.... big screw up here.
ok, more technical stuff now. those who're not interested can skip this part. ok, notice those big hanging twin speakers on the wall of the hall? there're 4 sets of them. these are called RAMSA. short for Research in Advanced MuSic and Acoustics. sounds prfessional huh? they're actually not ours, we pleaded to mr.goay to borrow us to use in ur campfire. think of those as a very stupid kid. it actually 'clipped' or 'DDT'(wont explain these 2 terms. involves too much stuff like positive signal feedback and bla bla bla) in the mid of the campfire and the not-so-smart audio signal processor(we just call them processor) muted. yes, it actually gone offline in the mid of a campfire. and then when it came back on, everyone noticed(the sudden deafening increase in volume).
by the time it all ended, i was so pissed i just changed and went to sleep.
last day
everything went well today. no major hiccups. experimented and swapped speakers in the '215' or '3-way-loudspeaker'. it was fantastic, u guys should've been there when we played songs from kenny G. perfect.

only have an hour and a half of sleep. have to wake up at 6 bsc those cmt wants us to play 'chicken dance' at 6.30. junlin has gone without sleep while yifeng wakes up only because we're testing the speakers.
and then the talks. sound effects really comes in handy... especially when the atmosphere is too 'cold'. n the 1st speaker is great but the 2nd speaker is just annoying... befrienders... in sivic exam we even get friendsters... lol
half an hour to continue preparing the items.... hell part 2. bsc so many, i mean MANY ppl came to correct this and that until i actually have to redo everything, i issued a statement tat no changes will be made after the half hour. many came from the same group with contradicting statements tat i have to have junmin and gilbert run rounds so many time(they must b really fit for marathons). tat was fine, i tried to keep pace with their demands the best i can. and in the mid of the chaos, bad things are bound to happen n tat i'll explain later.
n then here comes trouble. after they tested their schedule bla bla bla, gangs of ppl from group 1 came to request for changing and rediting the songs. told them no, i've adi had enough of these. n then they started screaming bout us not letting them do anything, sending them to their death bla bla bla. got furious and yelled at them. yea, i did tat.
and then the campfire. the original plan was me to operate the computer since im the one who edited almost all the songs and communicate with the leaders, nanfeng with the mixer(dont even wonder if tats the blender), junan the player and another laptop just in case. not even half an hour after it started, i took over nanfeng's job and have horngwei take over junan's. why? nanfeng's not doin his job, too busy watching the show and shows no any significant know-how in his job. junan's playing games and sms at the job. n even worse, gilbert broke one of our mics, in half.
n junmin and jinyeong's is just confusing me with all the changing schedule. did ya all know tat the schedule has actually been changed 6 times DURING the course of the campfire? off course not, u're too busy complaining bout us whenever ur voice didnt came through(for christ sake push the switch to the top position!). and then there's junmin who screwed up the laptop twice. crashing explorer.exe first in the mid of a team's item and closing windows media player when it is playing 'gemuruh'(yea, u guys must have wondered y the song broke off in the mid).
and i mentioned bad stuff tat happens in the chaos. i played the wrong version a group's item. they end up waving their hands instead of dancing.... big screw up here.
ok, more technical stuff now. those who're not interested can skip this part. ok, notice those big hanging twin speakers on the wall of the hall? there're 4 sets of them. these are called RAMSA. short for Research in Advanced MuSic and Acoustics. sounds prfessional huh? they're actually not ours, we pleaded to mr.goay to borrow us to use in ur campfire. think of those as a very stupid kid. it actually 'clipped' or 'DDT'(wont explain these 2 terms. involves too much stuff like positive signal feedback and bla bla bla) in the mid of the campfire and the not-so-smart audio signal processor(we just call them processor) muted. yes, it actually gone offline in the mid of a campfire. and then when it came back on, everyone noticed(the sudden deafening increase in volume).
by the time it all ended, i was so pissed i just changed and went to sleep.
last day
everything went well today. no major hiccups. experimented and swapped speakers in the '215' or '3-way-loudspeaker'. it was fantastic, u guys should've been there when we played songs from kenny G. perfect.
too tired. post my draft tmr....
